Fundraising and other activities

Bucklesham and Foxhall Community Council led the celebrations for the Millennium and subsequently the Jubilee in 2002. More recently we participated in the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations by arranging a dance and ‘Bucklesham’s got Talent’!

Our main fundraising event is a concert which has taken place in December each year for the past 15 years, raising around £1000 annually. The Community Council also puts on regular Dances, Family Nights and Karaoke Evenings to raise funds. Other non-profit making events are also run such as village walks in the local countryside with a quiz and guide, a Scarecrow Competition in the Autumn, Photography Competitions, and an Art Exhibition was held in conjunction with the church. Furthermore we have previously run Self Defence and First Aid Classes. The aim is to provide events of interest to all sectors of the community.

In the past we have purchased a container for storing items on the football field and a ride on lawn mower to expedite the cutting of the playing field. We were unfortunately unsuccessful in our attempt to secure funding for a brick built pavilion/community building on the playing field but we are now vigorously pursuing alternative projects.

The Play Equipment is managed by the Parish Council.
